Albino Red Campion / Red Catchfly (Silene dioica) (20/06/2021) Southbank Equestrian, Henfield (arena bank). This sprang up all on its own (as in not seeded in my rewilding project) and confused the heck out of me. It's not White Campion because the calyx of the latter is bulbous and pale with darker green or reddish veins and the flowers are larger.
Red Campion / Red Catchfly (Silene dioica) (20/06/2021) Southbank Equestrian, Henfield (arena bank). ..and it's not hybrid Red Campion as that has a calyx more similar to red (pigmented) campion. So I conclude this is an albino variety which is rather nice as they are quite rare. The only other similar is Night-Flowering Catchfly, but that again has a different calyx with very long, narrow sepals, not these shorter, wider ones.
